Pitlochry Festival Theatre is a repertory theatre with a seating capacity of 544. The theatre was founded by John Stewart former director of Skerry's College.
The theatre boasts Scottish-based author JK Rowling as an honorary patron, and started the "Stay Six Days and See Six Plays" policy, that is so popular amongst visitors to Pitlochry - Pitlochry Festival theatre operates a unique daily repertoire system which means you can see a different play every night of the week - two on matinee days!
Strathgarry Hotel is situated about 5 minutes drive from the theatre - or about a 20 minute walk along the banks of Loch Faskally and across the famous Dam and Fish Ladder. We also offer our guests and visitors early meals to ensure they reach the theatre before the evening’s performance.
The Gallery and Shop at the Festival Theatre offer a wide choice of gifts and artworks for sale. Jewellery, china and unusual small gifts are available and with over 200 artworks by various local artists available, you can find something to suit any ones taste. You can also pop into the theatre for a coffee and homemade cakes.
As Pitlochry Festival continues to develop there is now a good variety of winter performances, all excellent quality.
Pitlochry also has its very own fun-filled family Christmas Pantomime! Kids and Adults will enjoy the 2010 play – Cinderella!
